round is a Seoul based design studio founded in 2020 by Jisun Kim,
that works on design projects with wit, artistic creativity, sustainability
for the future.
Jisun Kim, the founder of round, majored in interior design and studied product and furniture design at Kingston University in London. In her series, “foam chair,” was featured on designboom, and “future chocolates” was featured on a number of overseas websites as a work containing the message of future sustainability.
Among them, Poly series using hot press foaming technology is a new type of craft using plastic bags. The poly series was selected as the LEXUS creative masters 2021 winner. Projects with a message of sustainability include "Kyklos" campaign with Aesop, 'under the sea' made from used plastic bags at the Musinsa store, and “building” using marble off-cuts, etc.
round works with a variety of contemporary materials, and through experiments, they create new production methods and witty and creative designs. They have a motto, “Design should be for the future” and they are working on design to enrich the space, environment, and lifestyle in which humans live.
