round is a Seoul-based design studio founded in 2020 by Jisun Kim. Based on the motto "Design should be for the future", they are working with wit, artistic creativity, and sustainability for the future.
Jisun Kim worked as an interior designer and graduated from Kingston University in London with a master's degree in product and furniture design. Among the projects, "blooming series", "future chocolate", and "foam chair" were introduced to dezeen and designboom and received attention.
From materials that we commonly see in our daily lives, such as plastic bags, marble off cuts, nets, and expanding foam, to experimental materials such as edible insect powder, and intangible materials such as light, she is expanding the world of work using various physical properties.
We focus on a process based on research and creating connections between works that incorporate design and craftsmanship. and we aim to inspire people to look at the potential of materials from a new perspective. We engage in functional art and experimental one-off projects, aiming to create sustainable relationships that balance objects, spaces and lifestyles.
